Mount Pleasant is a historic neighborhood of diverse culture, architecture and character. Although many types of cultures and ethnic backgrounds live side by side, the commercial street celebrates a strong Latino flavor.

The café is located in the heart of Mt. Pleasant. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu consists of vegetarian, vegan and non-vegetarian food. Our food is fresh and wholesome.

In addition to serving tasty food, we also attempt to serve the community by offering a meeting place for friends and neighbors.

The café is built into an early 1900's townhouse and retains a home-like atmosphere. The original fireplace and mantel are intact, and the built-in booth and large table creates a sense of being in one's own dining room. The coffee cups and plates are handmade pottery and the custom-made stained glass sconces and rotating displays of local art give the cozy dining room a comfortable feel. The porch and patio offer an opportunity for excellent people-watching in this diverse and exciting neighborhood.

Our full menu is available for take-out. We offer several ways to accomodate those on the go, including phone-in orders and DAILY BAGGERS available from open to close. The BAGGERS are premade meals with a fruit and cookie that makes it easy to have a delicious lunch at work, or a ready-made meal to enjoy at home after a full day.

We consider our food to be basic and imaginative, but not gourmet. We offer hot and cold coffees made to order. The drink list includes fruit shakes, chai teas, herbal teas, Italian sodas, and fresh squeezed juices, as well as seasonal lemonade and iced tea. We always offer a choice of sweets that go great with any our drinks or as a complement to any meal.

On weekends, brunch is available, and includes bagel sandwiches, fritattas, fruit, granola and waffles served your way. The sandwich menu has a wide variety of sandwiches to chose from -- or create your own from the UNIVERSAL section of the menu. Our soups are homemade, but in a way that most of us don't take the time and trouble to make at home. In addition to sandwiches and soups, we have a variety of salads, a fruit and cheese plate, and a daily special that will satisfy even the most finicky eaters.
